Characteristics and Habits

沼林袋鼠是小型袋鼠，身高在60公分以下，分布於澳洲及新幾內亞，多為獨居型夜行性動物，但在食物充足區域有時會群體出現，在雨林茂密處則會於白天活動。 背部、臉頰、肩部和前肢是灰褐色，後肢是紅褐色。有細長的前腳和強而有力的後腿，跳動時，前腳會抱在胸前，尾巴具有平衡穩定的功用，當牠們慢慢跳動時，尾巴可當作第五條腿撐住整個身體重量。 The red-legged pademelon averages under 60 centimeters in height and is named after its reddish-brown hind limbs. It is a solitary nocturnal animal, but sometimes appears in groups in food-rich areas. The red-legged pademelon moves in the day time only in dense rainforests. Their strong tails can be used as a fifth leg to support the entire body weight.
