Characteristics and Habits

北美浣熊源自北、中和南美洲，是夜行性動物。頭大鼻吻部尖，尾巴上有長而茂密的毛和黑褐色的環形斑紋，代表性特徵是臉頰、眼睛周圍呈黑色及額頭有直紋。 浣熊基本上用觸覺來探索世界，Raccoon是北美印地安語「用手抓一抓」的意思。擅於攀爬，習慣把食物或其他東西放於水中清洗。個性聰明且愛乾淨，對於環境變化的適應力頗強，還會偷翻垃圾桶覓食。 The North raccoon's most distinctive feature is its darker-colored facial mask around its cheeks and eyes. Raccoons are good climbers, and they explore their surroundings with the sense of touch. They like to put food and other things into water to wash it. The word "raccoon" in one of the native North American languages means "scratch with hands."
