特徵與習性

灰頸冠鶴分布於非洲東部、南部及西部，與黑冠鶴是唯二棲息樹上的鶴，牠們擁有較長的後趾來抓住樹枝，是日行性群居鳥類。 灰頸冠鶴的特徵是頭上的皇冠、兩頰的白色斑紋及喉部紅色肉垂。公鳥會跳舞來示愛，有時會膨脹喉囊大叫。灰頸冠鶴會在黎明、中午和子夜輕柔的鳴叫，非洲農民把牠們當成準確的鐘。灰頸冠鶴是烏干達的國鳥，出現在國旗及國徽上。 The grey crowned crane is Uganda's national bird. Most cranes stay in the marsh, but grey crowned cranes do not. It holds onto trees by their long hallux. The males dance to attract the females' attention. Though it is still quite easy to find grey crowned cranes, the natural habitats are depleting due to many human and environmental reasons.
